5 months(We skipped some in between)

Ok, so I'm not the best at blogging but I'm going to try to do better. Eva is 5 months now and its amazing how fast the time flies by. In a nutshell, I decided to quit my job to stay at home while Eva is a baby and it was the best decision I ever made. I get to see every little milestone and laugh and she loves to laugh!
Her acid reflux are improved so much that she is no longer on any medication and seems to be doing very well.
As of only two days ago, Eva was staying with Auntie Alice one afternoon when she pulled herself into crawl position! I couldn't believe it since she's only 5 months but pretty soon her rocking back and forth motion will turn into a crawl and then we'll really have our work cut out for us.
We are still nursing even though it seems to be just on one side which is not as abnormal as it may sound.
She has started eating solid food in her bumbo seat and enjoys prunes and sweet potatoes. She is also a big fan of prune-apple juice and its so cute to watch her hold her bottle. We will be needing a high-chair very soon.
At her 6 month check up we'll get an exact wt. and ht. but I think she's around 15 pounds and 24inches.
We are looking forward to meet Eva's cousins, Miles and Olivia, who are due only 2 weeks apart! Exciting! Eva and I will be flying to meet cousin Miles on May 6th and I hope that the flight goes smoothly. Its so nice for Eva to have cousins so close in age. I know they'll be grow up to be good friends. We look forward to meeting our new family members (XOXOXO) and I'll soon post an update on our busy summer plans of weddings, Rhode Island, and the midwest!!!

New Addition - Eva

On August 13, 2009, Jay and I became parents to Eva Elizabeth Schwartz. There is nothing you can do or read that will prepare you for that moment when you look down at those big blue eyes and realize that you have just fallen head over heels in love with someone you just met. I now understand when my parents say, "I would die for you," that they truly mean it. We can't imagine our lives without our little "Pober" or as PeacePa (Jay's Dad) calls her - EvaLizzy.

Our two animals have adjusted better than we originally thought they would. Mia, our westie, cares more about Eva's toys than her. Interestingly, our cat ,Kitten-butt, thinks Eva is her baby! She follows us all around the house and starts meowing loudly when Eva is crying. So, our small house is pretty loud most of the time.

Eva is round-the-clock (literally she wakes up at 12:00,2:30,5:30am) work but also constant joy so it balances everything out. She is now 12 weeks old (3 months) if you are counting by the weeks instead of the date. It is absolutely amazing how fast a human being can grow. And I guess that explains my pure exhaustion due to the fact that I am still breastfeeding and is her sole source of nutrition. Breastfeeding for me has been a struggle involving lots of pain and persistance. Some days are good and mostly pain-free while others involve searching for the closest bottle and calling anyone that will listen to me complain about how I just can't do it anymore.

We are currently trying to get some sort of schedule going and waiting for that blissful "sleeping throughout the night."

3 month Eva in a nutshell:

App. 12 pounds and 23 in.

Hates (yes, hate is a strong word) her carseat. Therefore, the stroller and car are avoided if possible.

Stands up! Yes, she stands when you hold her hands.

Eating every 2 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night

Bottom lip quivers at the sight of an unfamiliar face

Likes to have babbling/cooing conversations

grabbing toys and trying to put in mouth

We are soaking up every precious moment and trying to keep up!
